Getting Started

If you would like to run a campaign for your church and you will be leading the campaign the first step is to register for a Church Giving account.

If some one else will be leading your Church Giving campaign journey they should register first and then add you as a delegate.

Once the Campaign Lead has registered for an account they will be prompted to set up their church and will then be able to begin the campaign.

You can follow the process in our instructional video below.

The Campaign Lead is the person with overall responsibility for organising the campaign. Within Church Giving they have the ability to delegate tasks to other team members, called delegates.

Campaign Leads also have the ability to decide whether to hold a Community Event and whether to include a treasurer’s report to the congregation, or they can delegate these decisions to others.

The Campaign Lead can add delegates on the My Team page. Watch our video below to see the process.

Church Giving defaults to assigning the Campaign Lead role to the first person who sets up the church on our system. You do not have the ability to change the campaign lead from within your account however we can do it for you. We just need you to submit a support query and we will get back to you.

If you are currently delegate we may contact the existing Campaign Lead to confirm the change.

Yes, once you have det up your first church’s campaign you can add another church by going to Add a New Church under the My Homepage heading in the navigation menu.

Once the new church is added you will be able to switch between campaigns via the dashboard on your homepage.

Following the journey

Church Giving is designed to help time-poor church leaders and volunteers run a giving campaign. It takes you through 21 basic tasks plus 2 optional tasks. Some tasks are very short (e.g. confirming the campaign date) others require more time to complete.

The basic Church Giving journey groups the tasks into phases, which you can see in the timeline on your homepage.

The standard timeline starts 15 weeks before the first campaign Sunday (the planning period), includes 3 campaign weeks, and ends 9 weeks later after a period of follow-up and thanking. Each phase lasts for a set number of weeks within the timeline to give you time to complete the relevant tasks and on your dashboard you will be able to see which phase you are currently in.

If you do not have 15 weeks until your campaign you can still use Church Giving, as our system will automatically condense phases within the planning period to help you get ready on time.

Absolutely!

Our system automatically adjusts the planning period to accommodate any date you set for the first campaign Sunday, so if you only have a few weeks you can still use Church Giving to guide you through which tasks you need to complete.

There are 21 basic tasks in the Church Giving journey. You don’t have to complete all these tasks however we urge caution before deciding to skip any of them.

Our journey is carefully designed to enable you to do what you need to do, when you need to do it. Skipping tasks may mean you miss an important piece of work which will impact your latter planning and follow-up.

For example, in the second task – approaching your church leadership – we investigate your financial position and consider what you would like to change which will then influence your future planning and follow-up tasks.

Task completion

The Church Giving journey is structured around a series of 21 basic tasks and 2 optional tasks.

A task is a set of instructions and information that help you understand and complete what you need to do next in your journey.

Each task features a tick-box which will allow you to mark it complete. You can also find these on the summary pages for each phase.

Phases are groupings of tasks.

The Church Giving journey is designed to follow a specific (or, if necessary, accelerated) timeline that helps you know exactly what you need to do and when you need to do it; phases cover a certain period of time in order to help keep you on track. This means you will have an indication of what phase you are in and therefore what tasks you need to complete by when.

Steps enable the breakdown of tasks into manageable chunks.

Some tasks are larger than others therefore we have broken them down into a series of steps so you can keep on track with your journey without having to complete everything at once.

Please note that completing all the steps within a task will not automatically mark the task complete. This is to give a margin of error and allow you to review the full task once all the steps are completed, before you then manually mark the task as complete.

Tasks can only be marked complete by the Campaign Lead or the specific delegate to whom the task has been delegated. Steps can be marked complete by any delegate.

Additionally, you will only be able to mark the calculating the change task complete once you have entered the information under the “Value of Gifts per Month” subheading and the summary table at the bottom has populated.

If you are unable to mark any other tasks complete then please get in touch with us.
